ParcelWren

ParcelWren: help guide

Sends your paid Shopify orders to Royal Mail Click & Drop and marks them fulfilled in Shopify when you buy the label. Labels are printed in Click & Drop.

Set up

  1. Get your Click & Drop API key. In Click & Drop, go to Settings → Integrations → Click & Drop API and copy the key. Only one app can use the API on a Click & Drop account, so turn off any other app first (for example Royal Mail's own Shopify app), or orders may arrive twice.
  2. Connect. Open the app in Shopify, paste the key and press Check and connect. We check it with Click & Drop before saving it.
  3. Choose what to send. By default every paid order is sent, except ones tagged no-rm-sync. You can limit by country, shipping method, tag or location, set a default Royal Mail service, and add packaging weight. Everything is in Settings.
  4. Send a test order. The setup wizard sends your most recent paid, unfulfilled order straight away so you can see it in Click & Drop. Delete it there if it was only a test.
  5. Buy labels in Click & Drop as usual. Labels are printed in Click & Drop, not in this app. When you buy a label, we mark the order fulfilled in Shopify (with tracking for tracked services), and Shopify emails your customer if you've turned that on.

Fixing common problems

An order isn't in Click & Drop

Open Orders in the app and search for it. Every order has a status and a message saying why: for example not paid yet, skipped by a filter, or waiting for a fix. Press Sync now to check Shopify again straight away.

"Postcode missing" or another address problem

Edit the shipping address on the order in Shopify, then press Retry on the order in the app.

"Customs details missing" on an international order

In Shopify, open each product, and under Shipping add the HS code and country of origin. Then press Retry.

"Click & Drop stopped accepting your API key"

Your key was changed or removed in Click & Drop. Copy the current key from Click & Drop (Settings → Integrations → Click & Drop API) and paste it on the Connect page. Orders waited in the queue and send automatically.

Orders appear twice in Click & Drop

Another app is connected to the same Click & Drop account. Click & Drop allows one API integration per account, so turn the other one off.

"That Royal Mail service isn't available on your Click & Drop account"

Choose a different service in Settings → Shipping services, or leave the default empty to choose the service in Click & Drop. Then press Retry.

"It's in Click & Drop, but…" (for example too heavy for the service)

The order is in Click & Drop with a problem Royal Mail flagged. Fix it in Click & Drop before buying the label, then press Mark as reviewed in the app.

A product has no weight

We send the fallback weight from Settings and flag the order for you to check. Add weights to your products in Shopify (Products → product → Shipping) so future orders are right.

An order isn't marked fulfilled in Shopify

We check Click & Drop every 15 minutes. Orders are fulfilled when the label is bought (or, if you chose that in Settings, when you mark them despatched in Click & Drop). Press Sync now to check straight away.

"Plan limit reached"

You've sent more orders this month than your plan includes (plus 10% extra). Upgrade on the Plan & billing page and waiting orders send straight away, or wait for the month to reset.

Contact

Use the contact form on the app's Help page, or email support@activedots.uk. We reply within 1 working day.
